Analysis enhancements

Sheep Genetics continually strives to provide a world leading genetic evaluation for our clients. Annually we implement enhancements to our analyses to ensure that you are provided with the most accurate breeding values and tools. This year there are a number of key enhancements being implemented to the analysis. The key themes for this year’s enhancements include:

More accurate decisions through improved analysis and calculation of breeding values
Ensuring the long-term efficiencies of our evaluations.

This years enhancements were made available on the Friday 13^th May 2022. This enhancements are reflected in the results from the 1^st May LAMBPLAN/KIDPLAN analysis and the 7^th May MERINOSELECT/DOHNE analysis.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All breeders need to have updated to the most recent version of their software to submit data and import result files.
Breeders and service providers need to have the correct permissions on the search site to be able to access results. Please see the how to documentation on the right hand-side for more information.

These enhancements have been developed under the MLA R&D contracts with the Animal Genetics and Breeding Unit (AGBU). AGBU is a joint venture between the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and University of New England (UNE) and is responsible for the R&D behind Sheep Genetics and BREEDPLAN genetic evaluations. The AGBU Sheep Team have been working for a number of years on the development and implementation if this years analysis enhancements alongside Sheep Genetics.
